Groups

IKON Institute of South Australia is committed to the support and development of the community.
In keeping with this, we support groups to operate at IKON.
So if you have a group that you would like to run, please contact us.

Current groups include:

Poetry

The poetry group is hosted by Krishan Persuad at Glenelg every second Sunday of the month from 4 - 6pm. The group is open to all levels of poetry enthusiast.

Krishan says "The group is basically a meeting of poetry lovers and writers to read their own work, discuss poetry of others and the philosophy of poetry, and get info about "whats on " poetry wise in the city. Its pretty awesome for poetry nerds."

The cost is a gold coin donation to cover the cost of tea and coffee.

If you are interested in finding out more or coming along then contact Krishan on 0406503819.

AATISN

Artisan: One who professes and practices some liberal art; an artist. [Probably French, from Italian artigiano, from Vulgar Latin *artitinus, from Latin arttus, past participle of artre, from ars, art-, art; see ar-in ]

AATISN is a peer run professional development and networking group for people using the arts as therapy, or interested in pursuing arts as therapy in their profession.

Each month the group shares information about current and future projects, funding and employment opportunities, and new research or development in arts therapy. This information sharing is followed by an experiential exercise led by a group member sharing their particular knowledge or expertise with other group members.

AATISN is held monthly, on the last Friday, at IKON, between 7 pm  and 9 pm. Cost : $14 to cover materials (unless advised otherwise), venue costs, tea and coffee etc.

If you would like more information or to secure your place at next month's AATISN please contact Ky Alecto ph 0429 307 632
